Summary

Wetland and freshwater environments of the Falkland Islands (FI) are key ecoregions in FI Environmental Policies. Habitat baselines are understudied and therefore the nature of land-use and climate change threats are little known and difficult to track. This project will combine existing expertise to establish current knowledge about FI wetland and freshwater environments, identify and address priority gaps through fieldwork, and describe indicators for long-term monitoring of both habitats and threats. Outputs will be fed into policy and management recommendations.
